After a first round defeat to York in the EH Masters (Over 40s) Trophy, the old and wise of Adel dropped into the Masters Shield, designed to give all the first round losers another game. Adel ladies 4’s travelled east towards the sea to be met by cloud and drizzle before the match against Driffield 3’s who were currently 10th in the league. Thankfully the weather did not prevent a return to the pitch for all of our teams this weekend. The ladies section scored 15 goals without reply to secure 4 straight wins and the men’s section also scored 15 goals but let in 13 with the 1s and 2s victorious. OK, it is only 8th January and we have yet to have the first full weekend of senior fixtures, but the New year has got off to a flying start with the boys under 12s A and B teams both topping their respective divisions in the Yorkshire Youth League and the Mens 1s winning a friendly v York last night in a warm up for their first league game tomorrow away at Sheffield Hallam.
