Adel Hockey Club is run entirely by volunteers who keep our teams playing, our pitch running, and our social events buzzing. Whether you want to coach, pick up a whistle, or lend a hand behind the scenes, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Umpiring
Love the game or want a fresh perspective on the rules? We are always looking for new umpires for our weekend league fixtures and casual summer hockey sessions.
- Full Qualification Funding: Adel covers 100% of your England Hockey umpire course fees.
- Match Allowance: Earn up to £20 per match when officiating regular club fixtures.
- All Levels Welcome: From absolute beginners taking their first steps to experienced umpires looking for weekly fixtures.
Coaching & Mentoring
From our U8 junior development groups through to our senior 1st XIs, quality coaching keeps Adel thriving. You don’t need to be an expert to start—you can assist experienced coaches or take charge of your own group.
- Free Membership: Regular coaches have their annual club membership fee fully covered by Adel.
- Qualifications Backed by Adel: Boost your CV, personal statement, or leadership skills with club-funded England Hockey coaching courses.
- Junior Development: Help run training sessions on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evening or take a team on a Sunday morning.
- Youth Mentoring: Experienced senior players needed to support and mentor young players transitioning into adult hockey.
Committee & General Volunteering
Not keen on running around the pitch? A sports club doesn’t run without crucial support behind the scenes. Whether you can offer 1 hour a month or take on a formal role, every bit makes a difference.
- Matchday & Event Roles: Social media coverage, catering, matchday hosting, and event setup.
- Volunteer Committee: Join our committee to help shape the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the club.
