Come and join Adel Hockey Club!
We are a friendly club offering year-round hockey, with 6 mens and 6 womens, and 2 development teams. We have a thriving junior section, mixed and indoor hockey opportunities, and our own summer league.
If you are new to the area, not satisfied at your current club, or are looking for a more sociable and less stressful hockey environment then why not give us a try?
What are you looking for in a hockey club?
We are the biggest club in the city of Leeds, and one of the largest in the region. We have struck a great balance between offering serious, competitive hockey and a fabulous social scene; both on and off the pitch, we guarantee you a warm welcome.
We have our own pitch and on-site clubhouse at the Church Lane, Adel War Memorial Association sports venue, plus the use of Leeds Grammar School’s pitch to cater for some of our many fixtures.
If you would like to join Adel, please fill in the form at the bottom of the page and we’ll put you in touch with the right people. Our current leagues can be found on our teams page.
Joining Adel HC: Your membership enquiry
Adel HC is a sought-after community club with a strong ethos of active participation. As we enjoy high membership numbers and exceptionally low turnover, we often operate a waiting list for new applicants.
To maintain our competitive standards and the sustainability of our volunteer-led club, priority is given to those who can contribute to the Adel community beyond the pitch. We specifically look for:
- High-Level Play: Experience playing at a high competitive standard.
- Leadership Experience: A history of taking on committee or captaincy roles.
- Technical Skills: Recognised umpiring or coaching qualifications.
We appreciate your interest in joining Adel HC and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Hope to see you soon!

Hello,
I am emailing on behalf of Leeds Beckett University in relation to student placement opportunities. We are currently looking for sports clubs that are interested in working with our students to help out with the coaching and running of a club. This is a great chance for your club to have an extra pair of hands to help out and for the students to gain real life experience. If this is something that you are interested in then send me an email and I can run through the processes. If you are not the relevant person to speak to then I would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
All the best,
Alice

Hello
I’ve just moved to Leeds fairly recently and wanted to join a local hockey club, mainly just for training but wouldn’t mind playing the odd match. Please could you send me any pricing information. Also do I need to be a member before I can start or can I just turn up?
Thanks
Lauren

Hi Lauren,
Pricing varies depending on age, employment etc, you are fine to come down to training on a Tuesday and see what you think before having to join! We can give you all the details on costs etc if you decide it’s for you.
Training times are here

Hi…. I’d like to start playing hockey again (I used to play county and club and then had kids so haven’t plaged for ages).. It’d be great just to come to training and maybe play some home games when I can. Would that be OK? Or do you need more commitment (!?). Thanks, Sarah x

Hi Sarah, come on down to training and see how you get on with the rest of the players and then let’s take it from there! No pressure at all, we are a very friendly club 🙂

Seconded! Ladies training is on a Tuesday evening at the club – if you aim to arrive from around 7pm there should be someone there to welcome you and help you out. Good luck
