The pitch is already hard and the temp is dropping rapidly. It is really windy and cold up on the pitch as well so I am cancelling training tonight NOW rather than leaving it till later to make the decision.

The mens 1s started the year with a convincing 6-1 win away at Sheffield Hallam. The result ensured Chairman Mark had the bragging rights in the Powley household again over Sunday lunch as son Will was on the losing side. Following a 3 hour training session at Church Lane on Tuesday, the soreness that followed would prepare Leeds Adel to get back to their best. After a first round defeat to York in the EH Masters (Over 40s) Trophy, the old and wise of Adel dropped into the Masters Shield, designed to give all the first round losers another game. Adel ladies 4’s travelled east towards the sea to be met by cloud and drizzle before the match against Driffield 3’s who were currently 10th in the league. Thankfully the weather did not prevent a return to the pitch for all of our teams this weekend. The ladies section scored 15 goals without reply to secure 4 straight wins and the men’s section also scored 15 goals but let in 13 with the 1s and 2s victorious.
