  We are saddened to report that Tony Moffatt, an absolute stalwart in hockey for Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, the North and England Hockey over many years, died peacefully at 5.30 a.m. this morning (Friday 22 January) after suffering a severe stroke last week. Adel Men’s 3s new year starts like the old one ended…

While most of the games this weekend were cancelled due to the weather, the topical climbs of Rotherham had withstood the frost and an away game beckoned for the Adel Men’s 3s. The weather had however caused Adel’s regular keeper to be called in to work, and after his Friday night replacement cancelled in the morning, the 3s once again off without a (volunteer) keeper. Mens 1st XI v Sheffield Hallam 4th XI

The mens 1s started the year with a convincing 6-1 win away at Sheffield Hallam. The result ensured Chairman Mark had the bragging rights in the Powley household again over Sunday lunch as son Will was on the losing side.
