We are saddened to report that Tony Moffatt, an absolute stalwart in hockey for Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, the North and England Hockey over many years, died peacefully at 5.30 a.m. this morning (Friday 22 January) after suffering a severe stroke last week. His wife Sue was with him at the time and his son Rob and daughter Gail were with him last night.

Adel Ladies’ 1st XI know Tony as a neutral umpire for North Hockey Association. He oversaw both Hull fixtures and the away game to Rotherham this season, he was due to officiate tomorrow’s home fixture versus Chapeltown where we will take a moment to remember Tony as a kind and friendly member of the hockey community.

Our thoughts are with Tony’s family at this very sad time.
