  We are saddened to report that Tony Moffatt, an absolute stalwart in hockey for Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, the North and England Hockey over many years, died peacefully at 5.30 a.m. this morning (Friday 22 January) after suffering a severe stroke last week. While most of the games this weekend were cancelled due to the weather, the topical climbs of Rotherham had withstood the frost and an away game beckoned for the Adel Men’s 3s. No real surprise but unfortunately the games tomorrow have been called off at Pocklington. The pitches at York have remained frozen all day and the forecast is for it to remain below zero until tomorrow lunch time, so it will not be safe. Hopefully see everyone at training this Friday.

The pitch is already hard and the temp is dropping rapidly. It is really windy and cold up on the pitch as well so I am cancelling training tonight NOW rather than leaving it till later to make the decision.
