Pea-super

Most league games take place on a Saturday afternoon, the occasional one starts on a morning and when weather intervenes some are rearranged for a Sunday afternoon.  So it was a bit of a novelty to be asked to umpire a rearranged league game on a Tuesday evening. The ladies 2s rearranged game with Harrogate ladies 2s was a proper test for the floodlights at the Adel astro, having recently passed the North league requirements.  However, Read more…

Preparations went well, with Carl on the alcohol free red wine the night before and laying off the curry for a change. Fozzy had held back from any marathon running, Mark and David had managed to avoid working all night and Greg had cancelled his work invitation to Read more…

Do You Believe in Unicorns?

On a beautiful fresh, crisp and most importantly above freezing December day, Adel ladies’ 1st XI travelled to Cheshire to play currently EH Trophy holders Alderley Edge. The team hold fond memories of the last time these two played, however this time round Adel would hope to not need last minute heroics to seal victory. Whilst Adel has the pushback, AE were quickly on the offensive firing their first shot wide after a mere Read more…
