Where do I begin…

Most of the previous weekly round up blogs have tended to begin with a win for another of our sides who are topping their league or a side who have banged in a hatful of goals.  Last weekend saw 4 of our teams on top of their tables on Sunday evening, we had 4 players score 5 goals apiece in their match, another 2 or 3 bagged hat tricks and we even saw “hell freeze Read more

It was worth the wait…

Adel 3s travelled to Huntingdon eager to make amends for last weeks loss. Due to the skippers tardiness, Fozzy and Greg came up with a cunning formation which seemed to work well from the off with Beale scoring early on, closely followed by 2 more from Will Powley. All at sixes and sevens….

It seems like a long time since we last had a day where all of our senior sides ventured on to the playing surface but Saturday finally saw 10 mighty teams from Adel go into battle against a variety of opposition with mixed success (5 wins and 5 defeats), some shocks and some scorelines that were more akin to Roger Federer playing in the Australian open.  Lots of individual plaudits too with several hat tricks Read more

Explosive performance from Adel’s top-scoring team of the day

Fans of the late Val Doonican [Editor’s note: are you serious?] will remember his song about Delaney’s Donkey, a brilliant but stubborn race horse who could not be cajoled, bribed or bullied into winning, until finally, with the aid of some dynamite, he crossed the line in first place. Sometimes life really does imitate art. The men’s 5th team have been due a big win, with a series of frustrating losses, then a narrow defeat Read more
