Big Bens Men turned up to Adel a few hours earlier than usual for a home game. Those with hangovers felt this impact more than most. Although Boston Spa sit toward the bottom of the table previous encounters suggested this could be a tricky game. With the usual warm up complete Adel started spritely scoring within minutes of the start, from that point on Adel provided a very professional display working well in periods as a solid team going into the half 4 to the good. The second half saw more chances, some taken and others not, most importantly non-conceded with a final result 6-0.
Key points from the game:
· Sam Harris scored a hattrick – Purdy-esque in stealing a perfectly good finish from Gaz
· Gaz played really really well scoring two (plus the one stolen by Harris), thus Jimmy has lost his place in midfield
· Bayford missed a sitter that even being hungover is not excusable
· The defence finally got a clean sheet after being carried by the forwards most of the season
· We are still top of the league
DOD – Phil Bayford
MOTM – Gaz ‘Nugget’ Maver
