For the first time this season the weather decided to intervene, meaning an early start for the Adel pitch clearing squad of Ball, Phillips, Jackson, Cockburn and Powley (who arrived late but did bring the coffees and biscuits). We are fortunate this season to have a number of committed individuals who give an enormous amount of their time off the pitch in organisational or committee roles. Some of these people are up at the club 3 or 4 days a week at meetings, training with their own squad or coaching others. The mid season break seemed to last a long time although the absence of outdoor hockey allowed some the chance to venture indoors and a few others to have a well earned rest from all the activity associated with getting out 12 teams on some Saturdays and multiple junior teams on Sunday mornings.
