Latest updates after Saturdays COVID announcement

Based on the announcement on Saturday we will continue to train on Tuesday and Wednesday. As long as we continue to comply with tier 2 guidance then we are ok to train but individuals can make their own minds up if they wish to attend or not. After Wednesday the pitch will be as per first lockdown with no access permitted by anyone until further notice. The England hockey announcement is here

Hockey in the new era – We need your help

To share around the burden and allow us to continue to play hockey in the new era with lockdown restrictions, we continue to strongly advise people not to go up to the pitch and not to spectate at home matches.  Going forward, the only exception to this should be any parent of a junior player who needs to be there in a safeguarding capacity, each games’s officials and an appointed covid marshal for the game Read more…

The end of a busy working week for most of us, and fingers crossed a game of hockey at the weekend to look forward to. Covid Sub-Committee update

Thanks to the small group (Greg, Gaby, Ellie, Ian, Luke and me) who zoomed in for another call last night to discuss action needed to keep us playing safe hockey at Adel. Sadly, the YYHL junior league have suspended activity until January 2021 due to challenges organising Sunday tournaments but we are looking into the prospects of trying to play some junior games against local clubs, but with fewer attendees. Thanks to the 25 or so club members who joined the Zoom call last night to discuss how we can keep the pitch “covid-compliant” following the localised lockdown for Leeds announced last Friday.  To date our focus has been on ensuring members can play and train on the pitch, but the new advice provides more focus on if and how we might cater for spectators at the pitch.
