The Mens 1st team traveled Sheffield Hallam with a few extra pounds after the christmas break. Not ideal as it looked like we would be playing a stronger Hallam ‘4s’ side than we beat 8-0 earlier in the season!

After a slow start for the Adel men and a harsh green card awarded myself (Purdy) Adel slowly started to get a grip on the game and dominated most of the first half creating a number a chances but not quite able to covert. 0-0 at half time!

In the second half Hallam came out of the blocks quickly and scored in the first minute quickly followed by the inevitable but again harsh yellow card for Mayhew. However this yellow galvanised the Adel team and a scrap in the box was finished off by Buller who slotted the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner. This was quickly followed by some sharp link up play ending with Bayford (who had mastered stopping the ball on the olympic pitch!) paying the ball across to Savage for an easy finish. Adel dominated the rest of the game and looked solid at the back.

A gritty performance overall that keeps us top of the league!!

Next weeks sees the arrival of Halifax to the fortress!

MOM-  Chris Green- A class above in this game! Out best attacking player from centre back.

DOD- Purdy- Some interesting maths from Mayhew on the votes but probably deserved!
