The ladies 4th team got off to a cracking start to the season with 2 games this weekend against Bingley Bees and Leeds University.

Saturday 3rd saw them take on Bingley at Bradford Grammar school with a successful 1-0 victory. New comer to the team, Rosie Hunt, scored the only goal of the game with a fantastic reverse sweep which baffled the keeper and hit the back board with a resounding cheer from the rest of the team. Pam Hardaker was, as usual, solid in the back line of defence but with a full squad of 16 players the team were not short of subs which kept the team fresh and continually striving.

Leeds University had a visit from the girls on Sunday 4th at their Weetwood Playing fields and although the play, certainly in the second half, was mostly in the Leeds University end Adel 4’s came away with a 2-1 loss. Fantastic play was made by all, especially after nursing some sore legs from the day before, and the team kept battling until the very end to try to scrape one more goal past the keeper. Special mention must go to Hannah Fisk who stepped up at the last minute to stand in as goal keeper for the game. Hunt scored her second goal of the weekend and for the club but even with some fantastic saves and link up play Adel were unlucky not to secure a draw.

The 4’s are playing at home next Saturday 10th at 10.30am and would very much welcome any support from fellow players, members and friends of the club.
