The ladies 4’s game on 14th November looked to be a perfect opportunity to get some points on the table. Bradford 1’s was just below them in the league table with an exact match of 2 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses across the season thus far.

Adel dominated the first half with a vast majority of play being in the Bradford defensive half. Maddie Bickley made her debut for the women’s side after moving up from the junior team and worked wonders on the left wing. Morag Fowler and Charlie Surridge worked alongside Maddie in the midfield and held some fantastic link up play both up and down the pitch. Although there were several attempts on goal Adel were left wanting as Bradford broke through and scored twice before half time.

Around the teams’ traditional half time water and Haribo, talk was very positive with captain Sophie Bunker reinforcing the fantastic play and change in game from the week before. The team is only just starting to gain some consistent core players each week which showed greatly in Saturdays play.

Back out for the second half and Adel was pumped, ready to bring back the goals and put Bradford on the back foot. This half saw 3 short corners in favour of Adel and, although the team’s new planned short corner routines were utilised, the Bradford defence was just too organised for the Adel girls to grab a goal. 2 more goals in favour of Bradford, and a heck of a lot of rain later, the final whistle blew with Adel very unlucky to not get any goals on the team sheet.

A final score of 4-0 to Bradford means Adel 4’s now sit 9th in the league with only 4 points between them and potential relegation.

Saturday 21st see’s the 4’s away at Halifax with their next home game being 28th November at 4.30pm. They would love you to come and support them if you can to gain those ever needed points to stay up in the league.
