Men’s 1s vs Leeds

Last weekend big bens men effectively won the league after having gained promotion without hitting a ball.   The long away trip to Leeds was particularly enjoyable given the brilliant following we took with us. Leeds had started the season as an early contender before starting to slip and so Adel were fully focused in the preparations and warm up. This enabled the game to get off to a quick start with Adel enjoying the Read more…

Super Sunday for the u14 Girls

It was the final week of the Yorkshire U14 girls league on Sunday and Adel had morning and afternoon fixtures with both our 1st and 2nd XI playing a 3 match round robin series in their respective leagues. The forecast was cold and wet – typical junior hockey weather and the girls did incredibly well to keep their enthusiasm and skills up in hand numbing weather. Champions on display this weekend at Adel

Match Report(s): Men’s 4s vs Thirsk, 25th Feb, and Men’s 4s vs Bradford, 4th March

An exciting day of Hockey at Adel on 25th February culminated in the match that the 4s had signposted since mid – December, 1st vs 2nd, with promotion, potentially a title on the line. Having previously talked the talk but failed to walk the walk in crunch games earlier on in the season, (or at least failed to win as emphatically as the talk beforehand would suggest) the adrenaline was flowing. Adel were highly focused and Read more…

One up, how many to go?

Saturday saw the first of Adel’s teams secure their promotion this season with the Mens 4s achieving part one of their target with a comfortable 4-0 win over Thirsk & Malton.  The victory secured promotion for Sam and his team and maintained their unbeaten league season having only dropped 2 points from their away game against the same opposition back in November.  As the celebrations started in the bar at Adel, news began to filter Read more…
