On behalf of Leeds Adel Hockey Club and its members we are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and offer our sincerest condolences to the entire royal family.

After taking advice from England Hockey, Sport England, and the UK Government we will be continuing with our planned and usual training and match activities over the weekend.

To mark our respect we will be holding a 2 minute silence prior to each training session and match throughout this weekend. Players are also asked if able to wear black armbands or ribbons during matches – home and away – this weekend.

We ask that all non-essential social media posts on club platforms are not posted during this period of national mourning.

Saturday Night Lights – due to be played on the eve of the first game of the season – 17th Sept – will be postponed until after the period of mourning.

Our second parent’s evening will go ahead as planned between 6 – 9 this evening.

More information will be provided on Monday regarding any further changes to our training, playing, or social calendar.

For those that wish to sign a book of condolence – one has been opened in Adel Parish Church of St John the Baptist – just adjacent to the club.

The clubhouse will remain open as usual unless a further announcement is made by the AWMA.
