Should teams withdraw after payment has been made and the schedule set up, a refund is at the discretion of the summer league coordinator.

Umpires

Should a team be unable to get an umpire and wish to have Adel provide one then an additional fee of £52.50 can be made and a paid umpire will be provided each week for the duration of the summer league. Please check this is available before making this payment. We will be using unassessed and assessed umpires. All unassessed umpires will be supported, and the SL will be used to develop them. I’m sure you appreciate that we need more umpires.

Matches

  • Matches are played as 7-a-side and half-pitch, playing across.
  • Matches will be 2 x 25 minutes halves.
  • Teams are responsible for punctuality of start times, as delayed starts have impacts on the next matches.
  • Short corners with be played with the usual Saturday rules.
  • Long-corners are taken from the half-way line in the corresponding spot.
  • Rules can be found on the link attached here.

Goalkeepers

Teams are welcome to play with or without a keeper. Where they play without the following rules are in place:
– No players can act as a kicking back
– 5 outfield players can defend at a short corner

Umpires

Teams are expected to provide one umpire for each game. Adel does not provide any payment towards umpires, if teams wish to pay then that is their decision. The umpire does not need to be qualified but needs to have a very good understanding of the rules. Preferably they have also read up on the 7 aside rules before umpiring matches to avoid disputes between umpires during games. If newly qualified umpires are being used, can the teams providing them ensure that they are adequately supported in their role.

Results

Results should be uploaded on a live score sheet that will be distributed to the captains prior to the start of the tournament. It is the responsibility of the 1st named team captain to upload this information, or the information can be placed onto the whats app chat if it is easier for the Summer league coordinator to upload.
A Whatsapp group will be set up for each evening to allow captains to discuss availability and in the unfortunate event a team can’t attend then the opposition can easily be informed.  Please can Captains provide numbers when signing up to make the set up of chats easier. Codes for astro and lights and overflow will be issued on that as an Adel team may not be scheduled down to play a first match or the last match.

Clubhouse

The clubhouse will be open for refreshments pre and post matches. We encourage you to enjoy the hospitality. Drinks can be taken from the bar to the pitch in disposable containers. Please use the bins provided.

Car Parking

Parking on summer league nights can be busy. This is due to the number of teams we have attending each evening and other sports going on up at the Club. Please be conscious that we are in a residential area and parking on the road outside of the club should be avoided. If there isn’t any space within the car park, there is a layby just down the road, opposite the church which you are able to park in. There is also the overflow car park which is on the other side of the cricket pitch (still on church lane). Captains will be provided with the code to unlock it. The gate to the overflow should be open on match-day nights.

We encourage car sharing, the use of public transport, or walking/ cycling where possible.
Bikes can be secured in the spectator area.

External teams – your club may charge you but team entry will be sorted prior to matches beginning.
