Its not often one of your sides wins their league with 6 games to go (and before the end of February) but the Ladies 1s this season have not been any normal side.  Congratulations to all of the playing and coaching squad involved who have earned the rewards for their efforts both on and off the pitch.  The challenge now of course is to complete the season as the “Adel Invincibles”.  I am not sure if any other Adel team has gone through the whole league season with a 100% win record ( I very much doubt it but will happily be corrected!) but I am sure this is the next goal for this team so they go into the end of season play off for promotion as the team to fear.  Saturday’s match report is available else where but another solid away victory with another clean sheet continues the run.

The 2s look to have missed out on promotion despite a 3-1 win v Leeds Uni 3s.  Having only been promoted last season to the Premier League, the ladies 2s have fought hard and put together an impressive string of results since their early season last minute wobbles which cost them valuable points.  With the 2 teams ahead of them in the promotion spots both playing at Weetwood (Leeds 2s and Leeds Uni 2s) it shows that an LS16 postcode dominates this division.

The 3s still have everything to play for and it is in their own hands to see if they can seal another promotion.  A 3-0 win against Harrogate keeps the pressure on the other teams at the top and promotion for the 3s this season will mean all 4 of our ladies teams finishing in a promotion spot in their leagues over the last 2 seasons.

Sadly the 4s could not quite round off the day with a 100% win record for the ladies section as they went down valiantly to Halifax 3-1.

The mens section also had 3 wins from 4 games although the 1s were given a “gimmee” by Normanby Park who were unable to raise a team for the umpteenth time this season (and this was even for a home game).  Hopefully goal difference won’t come into play at the end of the season as sometimes a 3-0 walkover is not sufficient consolation for a team conceding when they may have been hammered 10-0 by one of your promotion rivals.  Rotherham and Lindum 2s continue to be the favourites for promotion but Rotherham have a tricky home match this Saturday against Sheffield Hallam 4s, with one of the Hallam players hopefully keen to help out his former club (especially if he wants his rent paying next term….!).

The 2s had to turn up for their 3-0 win over Ramgarhia but again promotion now looks out of the question – however the 2s have overcome some setbacks this season to end up playing with a great team spirit and put in some fine performances as well as helping provide a number of new players to the first team when needed.

Win of the day goes to the 3s who had the long trip to Weetwood where the students were once again duly thrashed 11-1 by Rich Bingham and his merry band of men.

But sadly the fixture schedulers were unkind to the 4s giving them a tough ask to beat table-toppers Mirfield and they went down 3-1.

So one league title secured, 2 more possible promotions await, the Leeds Sports Awards next week and by the looks of things no teams any where near a relegation spot!  Its all shaping up nicely for the end of season celebrations at the club dinner and the AGM.  Tickets for the club dinner come with the added bonus this year in that payment allows you free entry to the AGM where you can voice your views on the season, stand for a position for next season and help take the club forward to greater success next season!
