Adel Hockey Club – a section of Adel War Memorial Association has identified a need to improve the changing facilities for the existing membership as a priority. Existing facilities are shared with cricket, football, lacrosse and archery, and are well below the standards expected by Sport England. They are in stark contrast to facilities experienced at other clubs across the region and beyond.
We plan to use a piece of land on the site that is not currently well utilised, is hidden well away from neighbours, and directly adjacent to the area which it would primarily serve. There will be no highways access beyond that required for maintenance of the building. A landscape buffer will be maintained to the boundary adjoining neighbouring properties.
It should be noted that this proposal will not result in any increased usage of the pitch facilities and the only social space is for team briefings. There are no licenced bar facilities within the proposal as the existing Adel War Memorial bar facilities will be continued to be used as presently.
The proposed project would see the hockey section with secure, purpose built high quality changing facilities, close to the pitch. Providing four changing rooms with dedicated shower facilities would allow players to leave kit securely in the changing room while playing and still allow following teams to access the changing facilities before their game.
We’re developing a thoughtful design that allows for maximum usage; in type and volume. We’re
planning environmentally friendly features to improve efficiency, lower running costs, and help the ease of build.
We are currently at early design stages for the project and will update you as we have more
developed plans in due course. If, however you have any queries or comments at this early stage please do not hesitate to contact us via our Contact Us page – Click Here.
Below you will find images of an aerial view of proposed site of the facilities, view of the facilities from pitchside, and visual of proposed facilities adjacent to the pitch.
