The Mens 2s have been recently promoted into Yorkshire and North East Division 1 after the 21/22 season, which brings some fresh challenges to what is largely a brand new team this season. Captain Matt Aldred has a depth of talent at his disposal from a large collection of performance squad players who would have all walked into the 1s in seasons gone by. M2 boast an experienced back line which has made us a notoriously difficult team to play against; complimented by a fresh and exciting midfield and forward line with the aim of scoring team goals straight from the training ground.
M2 has always been an excellent environment for extremely talented juniors in previous seasons and the 22/23 season is no different. Matt is proud to welcome two new juniors into the team who have displayed promising talent in preseason and now follow in the footsteps of their respective brothers who have both ascended the club ranks and have now left the club to start University.
Off the pitch, M2’s assets lie with an ever-thriving fines pot which has allowed us to put together excellent away trips and socials inclusive of all team members. It’s no secret that the M2 fines sheet – a masterpiece of almost 10 years of wit – is rivalled by the rest of the club, with players from all teams wanting to get a slice.
