After a whirlwind few weeks, with losing an easy match, knowing we have secured the top spot with games to spare and a few Saturdays of no hockey anyways, we were happy to have some fun on the wind exposed pitch in Keighley. The final game- Leeds Adel Ladies 4s vs Airedale Ladies 2s.

They had big hitting blocking defenders, we had alot of midfielders running laps up and down the pitch. They had 2 sideline coaches, we had the fatherly figure of the always present Colin Shields coaching us. They had a million confusing lines marked on the pitch, we just had confusion written all over our faces.

Nonetheless, Adel dominated from start to finish despite the numerous missed goal scoring chances. The countless chances captain Fathima misdirected was bemusing. The full pitch runs Pam was making was inspiring (she wanted goals!). Its safe to say that we did push 4 solid goals passed the opposing goalkeeper.

Bottom line of the story- we won 4-0. We secured the top spot of Division 6 North and succeeded in our season aim of promotion (Yippppeeeee!)

Bring on summer league!

MotM- Rachel Damp – great efforts, massive improvement and real determination

DotD- Fathima Patel – all those missed goals and not understanding the pitch markings very well….
