While most eyes were glued to the Euro 20 final at Wembley last night, wondering if after 55 years, football was coming home (it didn’t….), two of our more “experienced” Men’s 1’s squad were travelling down to Bedford to represent the North of England over 35s in the regional age group tournament.

Whilst there was heartache and disappointment for Southgate and his squad, there was delight for Nathan Hemming and Simon Ball as they returned victorious and brought it (a hockey trophy!) home to the North.

Well done Nathan and Bally, great to see the club continuing to provide players for representative squads at all age groups from several playing for the North East in the under 13s regional tournament in Nottingham, through to our over 75 golden oldies, Ian Phillips and David Margerison still battling it out for Wales and Scotland respectively.

And this Sunday we have a Leeds Adel over 50s team playing a friendly game against the North of England Over 65s at Adel starting at 2pm.  Spectators welcome to come and watch from a safe socially distanced viewing point and see the club’s elder statesmen in action.
