This weekend sees one of the rare opportunities to see both the mens and ladies first teams in action at Adel so a big crowd can be expected to be entertained throughout the day.  However, the more interesting and exciting game may be after both of these fixtures – read on.

Not wishing to be outdone, the ladies 3s open the proceedings with a top of the table clash against Pocklington with an Adel win sorely needed to maintain the 3s promotion push.  The ladies 1s then take on Alderley Edge in a top half of the table clash with memories of the last time these two sides met in Leeds still in every ones minds with the goal that secured promotion (along with Alderley Edge) scored in overtime at Weetwood in last seasons North play off finals.  The ladies 1s will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a couple of weeks of coming off second best and a big crowd to act as strong home support could make the difference as they look to rediscover their strong start in the first half of the season.

The mens 1s then take on the combined might of Thirsk and Malton, knowing that 3 wins from their last 5 games will guarantee promotion and hoping that the taste of defeat to nearest rivals Hull was merely a blip on their otherwise excellent season.  Thirsk and Malton lie in 5th place in the division so should not be underestimated despite an impressive Adel 7-0 victory in the reverse fixture.

The mens 4s then complete the home games with the 3.00pm game against Thirsk and Malton 3s with a win for the 4s guaranteeing promotion and subject to results in other games it could also see them crowned as champions.  However, this will be their toughest test of the season with Thirsk lying in 2nd place and the reverse fixture before Christmas saw a 1-1 draw between the 2 teams, the only points dropped by the mighty 4s all season.  Hopefully there will be a good atmosphere with both teams well supported on the sidelines by their 1st team colleagues!

The ladies teams on their travels both head for York where the 2s are hoping to continue their long unbeaten run and avoid yet another draw which might please those of you doing the pools coupon but has frustrated the team on several occasions this season.  The 4s take on York 5s hoping that a win can restore their promotion chances too.  The 5s sadly have a week off due to Rotherham 3s having dropped out the league but perhaps they can come along and support the other teams playing at Adel instead of other plans.

The mens 2s travel to Wakefield fresh from a hard fought victory last Sunday over the Leeds Uni students and the 3s travel to Bingley whilst the 5s look travel to Boston Spa who lie in 3rd place.  A win for the 5s would be very helpful for the mens 4s as this would make sure Boston Spa are out of the running for promotion.

There could be some celebrating at Adel by Saturday night so prepare yourselves!
