As we enter the 2nd week of the Ladies Hockey World Cup, many of you will be keenly following the progress of former Adel junior Suzy Petty (number 11) in the England midfield.  Whilst Alex Danson, Maddy Hinch and the other Rio gold medallists grab the headlines, Suzy has put in some serious running in the midfield engine room when given pitch time and with the possibility of 4 games in the next 7 days there is sure to be more opportunity for her to shine on the pitch.

Behind the scenes, James Moorhouse is applying his primary school teaching skills managing the fleet of ball boys and girls as well as sharing his videos on Instagram and there are many club members popping up in the crowd.  We look forward to him bringing his newly acquired skills back to Adel for our match days….

Many of you will be aware of our veterans travelling the globe to play over 70s Masters Hockey and another club member had a successful weekend playing Masters Hockey too.  Head of Coaching, Simon Ball turned out as a guest for Neston Baa Baas in the final of the EH Summer Masters for over 30s alongside former ladies coach, Sam Ransley now ladies coach at Neston.  Victory in a shuffles shoot out saw Bally resplendent in his Adel shirt celebrating at Old Loughtonians ground.

The new season draws ever nearer so I trust everyone is getting ready for the fitness training where you will find out if playing summer league really is the answer to keeping fit in the off-season!
