Men’s Summer League 2022 Starts Thursday 7th July and will run on Thursday nights for 6 weeks.
For Adel members, the summer league is included in your annual membership. For prospective new members playing in Adel teams, your entry is free-of-charge.
This year’s tournament will be made up of 5x Adel HC teams, and 3x Leeds HC teams. Teams from both clubs will be mixed ability.
Captains are marked in grey.
There are 8 teams in this round-robin, and 6 game weeks. Each team will play every week. Because there are only 6 game weeks each team will only play 6 of their 7 potential opponents.
Matches are played as 7-a-side and half-pitch, playing across.
Matches will be 2 x 25 minutes halves.
Short corners with be played with the usual Saturday rules.
Long-corners are taken from the half-way line in the corresponding spot.
When an Adel team is playing a Leeds team – Adel will wear ORANGE, Leeds will wear BLUE
When an Adel team is playing another Adel team the first-named (home) team will wear ORANGE, the second-named (away) team will wear BLACK.
When a Leeds team is playing another Leeds team the first-named (home) team will wear BLUE, the second-named (away) team will wear WHITE.
Teams are welcome to play with or without a keeper. Where they play without the following rules are in place:
– No players can act as a kicking back
– 5 outfield players can defend at a short corner
– If a penalty stroke is awarded against the team without the keeper, then a goal should be awarded instead.
Teams are expected to provide one umpire for each game.
Results should be sent via WhatsApp to Sam Jackson – after each game.
Results and an updated table will be available on this page shortly after each game week.
The clubhouse will be open for refreshments pre and post matches. We encourage you to enjoy the hospitality. Drinks can be taken from the bar to the pitch in disposable containers. Please use the bins provided.
Car Parking
Parking on summer league nights can be busy. This is due to the number of teams we have attending each evening and other sports going on up at the Club. Please be conscious that we are in a residential area and parking on the road outside of the club should be avoided. If there isn’t any space within the car park, there is a layby just down the road which you are able to park in. There is also the overflow car park which is on the other side of the cricket pitch (still on church lane). The gate to the overflow should be open on match-day nights. We encourage car sharing, the use of public transport, or walking/ cycling where possible. Bikes can be secured in the spectator area.
